Bird Nest IslandFor those interested in the internationally famous Bird Nest Soup miracle drink, the Hon Yen Island (Bird’s Nest Island) is located 17 km off the shore of Nha Trang; a 3 to 4 hours boat ride. This island is also known as Salangane Island. Salangane (Swiftlet) birds stop on this island to rest and produce the material that is used to make the bird nest soup, which is considered an aphrodisiac. It sells for over $2,000 USD per kilogram in the international market. Boat Island TourThe one day boat island tour will take you to 3 or 4 of the major islands just off the coast of Nha Trang. The cost is between $10 - $20 USD depending on what level of boat you want to take. The boat trip leave about 7 am in the morning. 1. Vinpearl (also known as Bamboo island or Hon Tre Island ) is where the Vinpearland Resort and Park is located. For this island you can just pay the 300,000 VND ($17 USD) and take the world’s longest overwater cable car for a quick visit. There's the beach, water park, shopping and an amusement park for children. 2. If you are into diving, then Hon Mun Island is where you want to go. Hon Mieu island is where the Tri Nguyen Aquarium is located (it takes about 2 hours to walk through the aquarium)
